The renowned creative festival, Cannes Lions, once again demonstrated its ability to make an impact beyond advertising,
“Welcome Back, Paisano, ” an initiative developed by Tecate, the advertising agency LePub México , and the social organization FUNDES, established itself as one of the festival’s most acclaimed Latin American campaigns.
More than just a communications campaign, the initiative proposed a tangible solution to one of Mexico’s most pressing social challenges: the reintegration into the workforce of Mexicans repatriated from the United States. Through an employability platform launched in partnership with Tiendas SIX and HEINEKEN Mexico, the brand transformed a moment of uncertainty into an opportunity to rebuild their lives.
That approach—in which creativity becomes a driver of social and business change—was widely recognized by the Cannes Lions jury .

Outstanding Performance at Cannes
The campaign won a significant number of awards in various categories at the festival, reflecting its ability to combine purpose, innovation, and results.
Among the top awards are:

- Bronze Lion at Glass: The Lion for Change, a category that recognizes initiatives that promote positive change in the areas of inclusion, equity, and social transformation.
In addition to these awards, the campaign made it onto several shortlists during the festival week, establishing itself as one of the Mexican entries with the greatest international visibility.

All of the above is made possible with the support of FUNDES’ network of consultants, who are experts in social innovation and the promotion of MSMEs.
